Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop expressed satisfaction with the news that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus acceptance of her invitation to visit Australia, the first time a sitting Israeli PM will do so to strengthen the bi-lateral ties between the two countries. Australian, Israeli and other countries representations paid tribute and laid wreaths at the monument of the ANZACs, who led the cavalry charge which liberated Beersheva in 1917, preempting the centenary ceremonies planned by Australia and Israel next year.
