A relentless campaign by attorney Guy Ophir may see multinationals such as Google, Facebook and Amazon pay VAT and Income Tax in Israel

Attorney Guy Ophir has been trying for three years to get the Israel Tax Authority to demand multinational companies such as Google and Amazon to pay the VAT (GST) for transactions made in Israel for Israeli customers. Numerous petitions by Ophir and appeals to the High Court in Israel resulted in a new proposal issued by the Tax Authority, detailing a tax review which may see due taxes being paid.
