The prominent Israeli Rabbi Itzhak Grossman who pleaded for Malka Leifer the former principal of the Addass Israel School in Melbourne, who is facing 74 charges of sexual abuse and assault against former students at the school, and who has so far avoided extradition on grounds of alleged mental illness, to be placed under house arrest, had completely withdrawn his plea following protests in Australia and Israel.
