The IBA - Thanks, and Goodbye

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority is officially closed. Rami Usha, and many others, used to host a weekly program on Reshet Alef. Not anymore. What exactly happened and why ?


IBA operated two television channels and eight radio stations in Israel. It was Israel's state broadcasting network. It grew out of the radio station Kol Israel, which made its first broadcast as an independent station on March 14, 1948. Now, the government decided to close it down, and instead created the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation. But Why ?
