Hannah Saunders, the producer from not-for-profit Shalom Collective - says The Spoken Word Festival grew out of the Sydney Jewish Writers Festival, creating space not only for the written word, but for stories to be told out loud.

The four artists we spoke to reflected on the importance of having a space where they feel safe to express themselves and show up as they are - through song, music, theatre and comedy.
