5-year-old taken from QLD daycare found in NSW

Police in New South Wales have located the five-year-old girl who was taken from Carrara in Queensland on Monday afternoon. 

The girl was located safe and well with the man along the central coast of New South Wales, near Kempsey.

Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Earlier, Police had issued an amber alert for a five-year-old girl taken from a daycare centre in Carrara on the Gold Coast on Monday afternoon.

A man was seen taking the girl from the Birmingham Road facility about 3.50pm, police said.

He put the five-year-old into a brown sedan before driving off.

The man and the girl were known to each other.

The girl was described as being Indian in appearance, about 121cm tall with brown hair and brown eyes.

The man was described as being Indian in appearance, about 180cm tall and black hair.
