Ashok Bhatia, living in Australia on a humanitarian visa, was arrested on Friday for allegedly indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl on a bus in May.
"About 3.25pm on Thursday, May 30 2019, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly indecently assaulted by a man on a bus travelling from Blacktown to Glenwood," police said in a statement.
"Officers from Police Transport Command's Operation Artemis commenced inquiries into the incident, and this week released images of a man wanted to assist with inquiries."

Mr Bhatia was arrested from his Surry Hills home on Friday evening.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with sexually touching another person without consent.
Mr Bhatia's lawyer told the court he came to Australia on a humanitarian visa because of his bisexuality.
He is studying Information Technology at TAFE.
"I concede the offence is serious ... (but) it's still a case where it's the evidence of the complainant against the evidence of Mr Bhatia," the Legal Aid lawyer was quoted as saying by the news agency AAP.

Mr Bhatia was granted bail from the Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday on the condition of surrendering his passport and not to enter Blacktown bus exchange or not to go within 5 kilometres of that area.
He is due to face Blacktown Local Court on August 6.
