Avreet was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries but she later died.

She was a Grade 4 student at the Templestowe Park Primary School.

The devastated family described their little girl as a "princess" who loved to study and dress up.

In a statement released to Channel Nine, Avreet's family said she liked to dance and play games on her iPad. "She was our princess."
Police believe she stepped out in front of the vehicle and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the pedestrian prior to the crash or anyone who may have dash cam footage.
