A sight you could hardly imagine - on the International Women's Day, a woman MP Ranjeet Ranjan rode to the Indian Parliament in New Delhi on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The 42-year-old Lok Sabha member from Bihar, wearing a blue attire with helmet and sunglasses, rode around the Parliament complex before entering the House to take part in day's proceedings.
Ranjeet is a mother of two and married to Rajesh Ranjan aka Pappu Yadav, a Lok Sabha member from Bihar.
She said she does not allow even her husband to touch the bike and has purchased this from her own earnings.
Prices of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in India start from around Rs 4.5 lakh.
She told reporters - "My life has been such that my parents have never objected to whatever I have done so far."
Ranjeet Ranjan later participated in the discussion on the International Women's Day in Lok Sabha.
There are 66 women lawmakers in the 543-member Lok Sabha, the highest number ever. On the other hand, the Rajya Sabha has only 31 women lawmakers.
