Indian business conglomerate Adani Group has won the bids to operate six state-owned airports in India, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials said on Tuesday.
The Adani Enterprises emerged the highest bidder for the Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur and Guwahati airports, a senior official of the AAI told NDTV.
AAI chose the winner based on the highest ‘monthly per-passenger fee’.

A total of 32 technical bids were received from 10 companies to operate the six airports.
The Adani Enterprises that bid for the Adani Group quoted ₹168 per person for the Thiruvananthapuram international airport, ₹115 for Mangalaru, ₹174 for Jaipur, ₹171 for Lucknow, ₹177 for the Ahmedabad airport and ₹160 for Guwahati airport.
The Letter of Award (LOA) will be issued by the AAI on February 28 to the selected concessionaire, who will be responsible for the operations and management of the airport assets as well as for further development of the facilities.

"We are delighted to win the bids invited by AAI in December for managing these airports under the PPP model," the Adani Group said in a statement.
The Ahmedabad-based Adani Group is foraying into the aviation sector in the country for the first time.
The Indian government cleared a proposal for managing these six airports under the public-private partnership (PPP) basis in November 2018.
