Tickets for all the matches had already been sold out, leaving many disappointed.  This release will allow more people to watch the final T20 match of the series.
Dr Deepak Rai was not able to buy a ticket earlier. He bought his ticket for the last T20 match.

“I am thrilled to finally I will be able to see some action in the stadium, thanks to the increased capacity.

Even though India has already won the series but it is still very exciting to see India taking on Australia,” he said.

The SCG has a capacity of 48,000 people.

Cricket Australia says it's working in line with current health advice and Government measures in place to assist in keeping matches as safe as possible.

A Cricket Australia spokesperson said 2,000 tickets were left on Monday afternoon.

"This is as close to the full capacity as you can get considering the Covid-19 situation," he said.
