Amitabh Bachchan 'could not hold tears back' as Aishwarya and Aaradhya test negative

Bollywood actor and former Miss World, Aishwarya rai Bachchan, and her eight-year-old daughter have been discharged from hospital after testing negative for the Coronavirus.

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan says he "could not hold his tears back" as his daughter-in-law and granddaughter were discharged from the hospital after testing negative of the Coronavirus.

"I could not hold my tears back as my little daughter and daughter-in-law were discharged from the hospital," Mr Bachchan tweeted.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan confirmed on Twitter that his wife and daughter had returned home from the hospital.

“Aishwarya and Aaradhya have thankfully tested negative and have been discharged from the hospital. They will now be at home. My father and I remain in hospital under the care of the medical staff,” Mr Abhishek Bachchan tweeted.

His father and legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan remains in hospital in Mumbai as he is still recovering.

Three members of the so-called ‘first-family of Bollywood’ family, Amitabh, Aishwarya and Aradhya had tested positive for the COVID-19 Coronavirus earlier this month.

Seventy-seven-year-old senior Bachchan had announced on 11 July that he was in the hospital after testing positive for the Coronavirus. A day later, Abhishek Bachchan confirmed that his wife and daughter had also tested positive. Aishwarya and Aradhya were taken to the hospital on 17 July after spending a week in isolation at home.

Amitabh Bachchan has a massive fan-following in India and people have been praying for his speedy recovery.

India has recorded more than 1.4 million cases of the Coronavirus, only behind the US and Brazil. Almost 50,000 cases were recorded on Monday. Over 32,000 people have lost their lives to the disease in India.
