A Doha-Bali flight was diverted to India on Sunday as a female passenger “misbehaved” after reportedly discovering her husband was having an affair.

The Times of India reports the Iranian lady passenger reportedly unlocked her sleeping husband's mobile phone by putting his finger on its scanner and realized that he was allegedly cheating on her.

The woman, who had consumed alcohol, was furious and reportedly started hitting her husband and also misbehaved with crew members who tried to pacify her.

When the situation got out of hand, the pilot decided to divert the plane to Chennai, India.

The Iranian family — husband, wife and their young child — were offloaded and the plane resumed its journey to Bali.

Later the family was put on a flight to Kuala Lumpur to catch another flight to Doha from there.

Qatar Airways said in a statement, "In respect of passenger privacy we do not comment on individual cases."
