Another Indian student dead in a head-on car crash

With the alarming number of car crashes involving the death of Indian students, we have the news of a 23-year-old Indian student who died in a head-on car crash in New Plymouth.

Yatharth Vats was an Indian student who hailed from New Delhi and had arrived in New Zealand in April this year to study Hotel Management in Taranaki. Yatharth along with a Nepalese student Shamuel BK who was also studying in New Zealand met his end in a car crash in New Plymouth.

The last rites for Yatharth Vats’ funeral were completed yesterday – Tuesday 23rd Oct. His elder brother Nishant Vats came down to New Zealand for the last rites.

The two victims Yatharth and Shamuel BK were driving by themselves on 14th October on State Highway 3 between Kaleigh Street and Richmond Road near Waitara. Mr BK’s body will be repatriated to Nepal.
