APOLOGY TO ATKINSON PRAKASH CHARAN
In an article published on 14 March 2017, SBS inaccurately suggested that Atkinson Prakash Charan was responsible for the Australian Careers Network (ACN) at a time when he was not. The article also mischaracterised the proceedings in which Mr Charan is involved. Mr Charan advises he ceased to be a Director of the ACN on or about 30 September 2014 and has had no ongoing role in the company since then. Further SBS accepts that Mr Charan is not being prosecuted for fraud. Mr Charan has himself brought proceedings against the publisher of a national newspaper seeking damages for defamation which are ongoing. SBS apologises to Mr Charan for the error.
