Well, then you need to be cautious and aware. According to a news report, a new malware is targeting Australia’s top banking apps. It is stealing bank details by thwarting security systems.
Here’s how the Malware steals your banking data
A new malware known as Android/spy.agent.si creates a fake version (a layer on the top of the original app) of the login screen when a user accesses their legitimate banking app.
The user, unknowingly, fills in the password to access the app.
That’s how the malware is stealing your information, without your knowledge.
Banks affected
This new, malicious android malware has affected Australia’s top four banks as well as other financial institutions and payment gateways.

How do I protect my device against this malware?
The foremost advice that security experts give is download apps from only trusted sources.
A Google spokesperson told ABC that Android users should not install any apps from the internet. "It's important to only install applications from sources you trust. Over 1 billion devices are protected with Google Play which conducts 200 million security scans of devices per day." Google said in a statement.
The Commonwealth Bank in a statement said that they recommend their customers only install apps from trusted Android app stores.
"Our monitoring and detection systems have not seen any increase in threats to our customers as a result of these reports. We also provide our customers a 100 per cent security guarantee for all customers using the CommBank app or NetBank." the statement said.
