A two-year-old girl has been found dead in a home in Miller in Sydney's south west, NSW Police has confirmed.
Police received a call from the member of the public who was concerned about the child’s welfare on Tuesday. Shortly thereafter, police found the body of the toddler around midday on Tuesday.
An investigation is under way, a NSW Police spokeswoman said. It is yet to be ascertained whether anyone else was inside the house.
"Investigations are underway and a postmortem exam will determine how the child died," she said.
WAS THE CHILD ALONE?
Fairfax wrote the little girl's mother had been in a car crash in the Blue Mountains over the weekend and was hospitalised.
A woman (believed to be the mother's friend) arrived in a dark sedan on Tuesday morning to enquire about the little girl.
Robyn Fransisco, whose parents live opposite the house, was quoted saying that "She didn't seem lot be the type of mother who'd leave her daughter alone."
Another neighbour told Fairfax that the little girl lived with her mother in this house. The mother-daughter duo had moved into this house together around 2 years ago.
Another neighbour said he often saw the girl playing outside.
"She was gorgeous, she had dark curly hair," he said. "I'm just blown away."
