The Indian community in Australia has forward to help a widow to repatriate her husband’s mortal remains to India.

39-year-old Kulwinder Singh died due to a sudden heart attack in Sydney earlier this month.

“It was sudden and he died on spot,” said Manjeet Boparai, who helped the family with fundraising.

Mr Singh is survived by a two-year-old son and wife.

“His wife was working and he was taking care of the child. His wife approached us for help,” said Mr Boparai.

An online fundraiser raised over $7000 which were used for the repatriation of Mr Singh’s mortal remains to his parents in India.

“The community came forward and we collected enough money to help his wife to take care of all the expenses.

“His mortal remains reached India and he was cremated on Sunday,” said Mr Boparai.
