Many vegetarians remain dissatisfied after their air journey when it comes to on-flight food. Steve Hogarty is one of them. He was flying with Colombian airline Avianca, and was left bemused when he received his vegetarian meal.

Hogarty, a writer from London, tweeted, “The vegetarian meal on this flight is an apple and a pear wrapped in clingfilm, served with a knife and fork.”
Avianca tweeted back promising that the incident would be investigated.
“Service is our priority, please let us know your flight date/number and also your contact information via DM. This is not our standard so we surely will investigate as soon as possible. AC,” airline said in a tweet.
Many on twitter could empathise with Hogarty. One Jenny Watts shared her experience that she was denied any food. She tweeted, On QANTAS returning to UK after sister's death, I was told 'No food for you, you're a vegan'. I was ignored for whole flight. Other passengers gave me food I could eat from their plates. It was a long time ago but ..”
