Camera operators loved the 87-year-old Charulata Patel clapping, dancing and chanting for the Indian team during India vs Bangladesh match at Edgbaston cricket stadium on Tuesday.

The Indian grandma cheering for Team India went viral. The cameras were on her. The commentators were talking about her. And even the Indian Cricket Team members walked up to meet her after the match.

Ms Patel watched her first ever cricket world cup in 1975 at the age of 45.

UK-resident Charulata Patel knows little about the game but, she knows Indian cricket stars such as Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Virendra Sehwag, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

When Rohit Sharma was hammering the Bangladeshi bowlers with his bat, Charulata Patel was dancing at the stands.

Speaking to one of the presenters, Ms Patel said, 'These are all my children. I love them. I support them. I am enjoying every bit of it.'

On Tuesday, she came out as a great ambassador of the game while watching the India-Bangladesh match with her family members.

Her spirit and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed.
After the match, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Man of the match Rohit Sharma walked up to her to meet her at the stands.

"She blessed them and made them promise not to go back to India empty-handed after the world cup," a family member told SBS.

"She (Ms Patel) had seen a lady of her age meeting MS Dhoni at Wankhede Stadium after an IPL match. This incident inspired her to watch the match in the stadium. She has a knee problem and can't walk properly, so we brought her on a wheelchair. She was excited like any other cricket fan."
Former test cricketers like Sourav Ganguly, Michel Vaughn and Virendra Sehwag praised her enthusiasm from the commentary box.

Ms Patel told ANI, "I always pray for Indian cricketers. I told them to take care of themselves and make us proud by winning."

India beat Bangladesh by 28 runs and secured a spot in semi-finals.
