Wesley Mathews has admitted to Texas Police that he removed Sherin's body from home on October 3rd, the day he claimed his adopted daughter went missing.

Mathews had earlier claimed that his adopted daughter disappeared after he punished her for not drinking her milk. He said he sent Sherin to go outside and stand near a tree at around three in the morning, after which she vanished.

On Sunday, Texas Police discovered a body from a culvert near the Mathews' home.

On Monday, with his attorney present with him, Mathews handed himself over to police and provided 'an alternate statement of events' about his three-year-old daughter Sherin's disappearance.

Richardson Police arrested him and charged him with Injury to a Child.

In the arrest report, Wesley told police that the child had choked on her milk following which he removed her body from home.

Wesley said that he was trying to get Sherin to drink her milk in the garage. She was not listening to him. Eventually, the 3-year-old girl began to drink the milk. He then physically assisted the 3-year-old in drinking the milk.

The 3-year-old began to choke. She was coughing and her breathing slowed. Eventually, Wesley Mathews no longer felt a pulse on the child and believed she had died.

"Wesley Mathews then admitted to removing the body from the home," reads a portion of the arrest report.

On Tuesday, Police confirmed that the body found from a culvert, 900 meters from Mathews' home was Sherin's. Police officials confirmed this based on the dental records matching.

The cause of her death is yet to be determined.
