According to the '2019 Global Wealth Migration Review', approximately 108,000 millionaires migrated in 2018, and most of them chose Australia as their destination.
The report published by the AfrAsia Bank and the New World Wealth says 12,000 High Net Worth Individuals migrated to Australia, is 3% more than 2017.
"Australia was the top country worldwide for HNWI inflows in 2018, beating out its main rival the US for the 4th year running. Popular places for them to move to in Australia included: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Perth and Brisbane," the report reads.
The report suggests the global wealth migration is accelerating overall.

The other countries on the list are The USA, Canada, Switzerland, Dubai, UAE, the Caribbean, New Zealand, Singapore, Israel, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Monaco, Malta, Mauritius, Latvia and Hong Kong.
The report has also studied the countries left by the rich to move to other countries. China tops the list with 15,000 millionaires leaving the country.
India stands at number three with 5,000 millionaires after Russia with 7,000 individuals.

In 2018, a lesser number of rich left India. In 2017 the number was 7000.
