A young Indian boy who was injured when a car allegedly hit him in Melbourne on Thursday afternoon has been released from the hospital.
Five-year-old Shriyanash Singh was riding his scooter on the road outside his home in Springvale on Thursday when he was allegedly hit by a car and tossed onto the footpath.
Young Shriyanash was found on the road by a nearby resident and taken to hospital after the police believe the driver of the dark-coloured sedan did not stop at the scene.
The little boy was taken to Monash Children’s Hospital with head injuries where he received about 10 stitches, The Age reported.
"He is just a beautiful little boy, always happy, loves to play with his big brother," Shriyanash’s mother Jyotsana told The Age.
"We are just in shock about what has happened."
The boy was discharged from hospital a day later.
