From Beyonce, Hillary Clinton to Bollywood stars, a sneak peek at Isha Ambani's big fat Indian wedding

Indian tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani married Anand Piramal, who also hails from a leading business family, the Piramal group in India on Wednesday.

In a season of big Indian celebrity weddings, the marriage of Asia’s richest man’s daughter to another billionaire has made headlines world over.

Mukesh Ambani, touted as Asia’s richest man worth to be more than $42 billion USD according to Forbes, celebrated his daughter, Isha Ambani’s wedding with her billionaire groom Anand Piramal, on Wednesday at their 27-storey house in Mumbai.
The duo tied the knot among family, friends and Bollywood stars in a lavish traditional ceremony at their home called ‘Antilla’, deemed to be the world's most expensive residential property, after Buckingham Palace and which features three helipads, 27 storeys served by 600 staff for a five-member family.

The wedding festivities kick-started over the weekend where thousands of guests were flown to the 16th-century lavish palace turned hotel – Oberoi Udaivilas, in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Videos shots by these guests and shared widely on social media show Bollywood A-listers like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among others performing dance numbers with the Ambani family in a Sangeet (dance celebrations) ceremony.  

Former US Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton and former US Secretary of State John Kerry were seen grooving with one of India's biggest movie stars, Shah Rukh Khan.
US singer Beyonce was flown in for a private performance at the pre-wedding bash where she sang "Crazy In Love," among other hits, with a band backing her up and a series of costume changes that included at least one India-inspired outfit.
Some videos show megastar like Salman Khan relegated to the background as Mr Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani grooves to a Bollywood number, rather out-of-sync, at his sister’s wedding.

Mukesh Ambani is the Chairman of the conglomerate Reliance Industries, which has businesses ranging from petroleum to chemicals to mobile phones.

The Piramal family, estimated to be worth $10 billion is into businesses which include pharmaceuticals and real estate.

The opulence of the wedding, the way stars performed at the Sangeet and the grand scale not only sparked off hilarious memes on social media but was also criticised by many.
