For the first time ever, the traditional Gujarati ‘garba’ fever took over an international airport terminal.
A garba flash mob was organised by the Airlines Operators Association and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport’s International terminal in Ahmedabad.
"There would be some passengers, flying out of the city and missing the Garba here, hence the idea is to compel them to do few steps while waiting for their flight, It is being done with help of AAI and Airlines Operator Committee.", an airport official told DNA.
The traditional Navaratri (nine nights) festival is being celebrated across the world where large communities gather to dance on traditional tunes till early morning.
On Monday night, around 1.30 am, airport staff in Ahmedabad organised a ‘garba’ flash mob for international passengers.
The celebrations went on after the airport staff joined in.
