Australia has fully geared up to face the visiting Indian team in the upcoming one-day series kicking off in Perth on Tuesday. Coach Darren Lehmann before the first ODI said that Australian team was ready for the visiting team and winning the first game was crucial for the series.
In a press conference, Lehmann said "India made it to the semis in the world cup so they are going to formidable. Plus we havent played at WACA in Perth for a while. It would be interesting to win the first game. Its crucial to win the first game."
Asked about the mood of the five-match ODI series, which gets under way at Perth's WACA ground on Tuesday, Lehmann said he expected it would be "the same" as previous ones.
"They (India) are playing an aggressive brand of cricket as well so I don't see that changing over the next five games," he told reporters in Perth.
"India play the same way, so it's going to be an exciting series."
Matches in the past have seen tempers flare, with umpires intervening in Adelaide in 2014 as players exchanged terse words and pointed fingers at each other.
The Perth game will be the first time top-ranked Australia have faced India since beating them in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup in Sydney last March.
George Bailey too seemed optimistic before the series kicks off. In a press conference, George Bailey said "Australia has had a great season and ODIs recently and we defeated them in the last world cup. Plus we are playing at home and that certainly gives us an edge."
