Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a missing teenager from Melbourne, Bashini Jayasinghe.

Police said the 14-year-old was last seen at her address on Kershaw Drive in Narre Warren about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Police and family have concerns for Bashini’s welfare due to age.

She is described as having long dark hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a long sleeve white t-shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and was carrying a blue back pack.

Police have released an image of Bashini in the hope someone recognises her and can provide information regarding her current whereabouts.

Anyone who sights Bashini is urged to contact Narre Warren Police Station on 9705 3111.
