Hima Das creates history for India, wins track Gold at IAAF World Championship

Hima Das has become the first Indian to win a Gold medal in the track events at any IAAF World Championship.

Hima Das won the gold medal in women's 400m at IAAF's World U-20 Championships at Tampere in Finland. She clocked a time of 51.46 seconds. Andrea Milkos from Romania had to settle for silver while American Taylor Manson took the third spot.

Hima Das is 18 years of age. She is from the state of Assam. She created a sensation on social media after her win.
