Hindustani Classical alive and thriving in Australia

Aussie-Indian Puja Pandey sings Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Gazals and also old Hindi songs.

Born and brought up in Patna, Puja Pandey arrived in Australia recently. Nevertheless, she has always been connected to her place and people.

“I feel so lucky, that have met very nice people throughout my life till now.”

Puja’s journey in music started from home. “My father is my first inspiration, and mother is the biggest motivator and support. It was by God’s grace that my Guru Shri Rajneesh Kumar happened in my life, and started my actual training in Indian classical music under his guidance.”

Puja’s interest is mostly in semi-classical, Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, and Bhajans.

“But I try to sing Ghazal or old Hindi songs too.”
