Tickets for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 scheduled in October and November 2020 will be made available for sale in October this year, the International Council of Cricket announced on Monday.

More than one million fans are expected to attend the tournament being played in Australia for the first time where 16 teams will contest from 18 October – 15 November 2020.

The seventh edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will feature semi-finals at Adelaide Oval and the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), followed by the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday 15 November.

Both the women’s and men’s finals will be played at the biggest cricket stadium in the world, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Tickets for the men’s T20 World Cup go on sale on October 18, 2019, where children’s tickets will be available for $5 and adults will have to pay $20 across men’s First Round and Super 12 matches.

'A family of four will be able to attend matches at both the women’s and men’s events from just $50. All fans who buy tickets to the women’s event will automatically qualify for a presale opportunity for the men’s event,’ ICC said.

Australia will play the opening match of the Super 12 stage of the men’s tournament on Saturday 24 October under lights at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), against the world’s top-ranked team, Pakistan.

Later that evening, India will take on South Africa at the state-of-the-art Perth Stadium, rounding out the opening night for the men’s Super 12 stage.

Indian Cricket Team's Australia-based fan group, the Bharat Army, has said the members are very excited for both the World Cups - Women's and Men's scheduled to be played in Australia next year.

"We are very excited for the upcoming T20 Cricket World Cups  - both women's and men's. We have so many women who are part of Bharat Army and our Indian women cricketers also play for Australia's Big Bash League. It is going to be a very exciting year. It will start with Women's World Cup and we will be there to support our Women's team and of course, our Men's Team in the later part of 2020," Rajul Sharma, Bharat Army Australia's Country Head told SBS Hindi

ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee CEO, Nick Hockley, said: “Passionate fans from around the world were a highlight of the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and it is such an exciting prospect that both the women’s and men’s T20 World Cups are coming to Australia next year.

“We have made sure that tickets to all matches are accessibly priced so that families, friends and communities can come together to support their teams and celebrate these major world events,” he said.
