The Muslim community in India has strongly opposed the anti national comments by the leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi. A few days ago Owaisi's comments that he would not utter 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai", even if someone held a knife to his throat created a major controversy. The Muslim community in Meerut however, proved their love and respect for their motherland by writing in the blood of Mohammad Imam 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. Mohammad Imam represents the Muslim community and along with his supporters he is of the belief that Owaisi makes such comments just to gain political mileage.
The Times of India quotes district vice-president of Congress Mohammad Imam - "Saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai is equivalent to hailing the land, women, children, sisters and soldiers of India. The remark of Owaisi is completely anti-national and is not acceptable." His supporters then drew blood from Imam's wrist with a syringe and wrote 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' on the map of India. The supporters said Islam doesn't give the right to be against the country.
