India beats Pakistan by 203 runs in Under 19s Cricket World Cup 2018

India will play against Australia in the finals on February 3rd.

India beat Pakistan by 203 runs at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval cricket ground on Tuesday to enter final of the U-19 cricket World Cup 2018.

India will play against Australia in the finals at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui in New Zealand on February 3rd.  

India won the toss and elected to bat. The team scored 272 runs in 50 overs.

India’s Shubman Gill stood out amongst with a score of 102 runs in 94 balls, taking the team’s score to well past 250.

Indian openers, skipper Prithvi Shaw and Manjot Kalra shared a partnership of 89 runs before the skipper was run out for 41.

The young men in blue suffered a mini-collapse in the middle overs, when Harvik Desai, Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma departed in quick succession.

However, Gill, along with lower-order batsmen, brought the team back on track and India finally summed up the inning at 272/9.

Pakistan was all out for 69 in 29.3 overs.

India has so far been unbeaten in the tournament, while Pakistan's only defeat came in their opening match against Afghanistan.
