- 'A gutting way for our #T20WorldCup journey to end': England Cricket Team
- The second semi-final between South Africa and Australia is scheduled this evening at Sydney Cricket Ground
- If rain washes out the second semi-final, South Africa will progress to finals
With no reserve day allocated for the semi-finals, India has progressed to the World Cup final.
The game was abandoned due to rain brought in by Tropical Storm Esther.
The decision was taken by the International Cricket Council authorities around 4.15 pm AEDT after the rain washed out the possibility to play the minimum 10-over match necessary to decide the winner.

Since India finished on the top of the group, they have progressed to the final in case of no result.
India started their campaign with a win against the defending champions Australia in the tournament opener.
The team then went on to win against Bangladesh, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, sealing their place for the semi-finals.
Leg-spinner Poonam Yadav and 16-year-old batswoman Shafali Verma have been touted as stars of this tournament with Yadav picking up nine wickets in four games and Verma scoring 161 runs in four games.
