Indian fans celebrate win over Pakistan in Asia Cup

Indian fans were apprehensive about the match against Pakistan after their team’s not-so-good performance against Hongkong in Asia Cup. However, the Indian squad outplayed Pakistan on Wednesday.

Indian fans had a field day on Twitter during and after the match against Pakistan.
Emotions usually run high whenever India and Pakistan meet in stadiums packed to the rafters and resounding with jingoistic slogan-shouting. The overflow of these emotions could be seen on twitter as well.

Sir Ravinder Jadeja, a popular Twitter handle taunted Pakistan fans about breaking their TV sets.
“Dear Pakistan, You Can Now Start Celebrating Your Customary TV Breaking Ceremony,” The tweet read.

Pakistan had beaten India in 2017 to lift the Champions trophy. However, India has a record of winning all its world cup matches against Pakistan. After yesterday’s game, some Pakistani fans referred to that match.
Another popular Twitter user Gabbar mocked at Pakistani fans for their celebrations after their team’s victory in 2017 Champions trophy final.

He said, “The Year 2099. World cup, India beats Pakistan for the 50th time. 100 yr old Pakistani Fan: "But the Champion Trophy Final in 2017.”
Another twitter user posted a video:
Pakistan chose to bat first after winning the toss and scored 162 runs in 43.1. Indian team led by not-a-regular captain Rohit Sharma achieved the target in 29 overs, winning the match by eight wickets.

Many Indian cricketers congratulated their playing colleagues on twitter. Yusuf Pathan said, “A commanding effort by the Indian team to beat Pakistan by eight wickets. What a start by Bhuvi, he's back in form and so is India. After the Hong Kong game, this was much needed.”
The U.S. Ambassador to India Mr Ken Juster also posted a congratulatory tweet.

“Congratulations #TeamIndia on your impressive win in tonight’s #INDvPAK #AsiaCup 🏏 match. All the best for the upcoming #AsiaCup2018 matches,” his tweet read.
India has to play Pakistan again on Sunday.
