‘Indian’ man suspected of indecently assaulting a teenager on Sydney train

The assault took place during the morning hour rush around 8.30am, police said.

A 17-year-old girl has alleged that a ‘man of Indian appearance’ put his hand up her skirt when she was traveling by train on Wednesday morning.

She was traveling between Strathfield and Ashfield Railway stations in Sydney when she felt a man standing next to her put his hand up her skirt.

The assault took place during the morning hour rush around 8.30am, police said. 

The girl moved to another carriage and the matter was reported to police after she got off the train.
The victim has described the man as of Indian/sub continental appearance, about 30 years old with an average build, short black hair and clean shaven, police said. 

He was possibly wearing a turtle neck and dark sunglasses. 

Police from Burwood Local Area Command are investigating the incident and are searching for CCTV of the male, as well as appealing for any witnesses to come forward. 

It is unknown what railway stations the man boarded or disembarked the train at.
