An Indian national was refused bail and has been charged over allegedly stealing from an elderly man in Sydney’s West, New South Wales Police said.
An 89-year-old man withdrew cash from an ATM outside a bank in Toongabbie and was walking down the Toongabbie Road about 10 am on Monday, February 10 when the incident happened.
It is alleged that a 25-year-old man grabbed him from behind and stole his wallet before running away.
Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command arrested him in a park on Wednesday morning and the brought him to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with stealing from a person.
