Srichand and Gopichand Hinduja have been named the wealthiest people in the United Kingdom by Sunday Times’ Rich List 2019.
The Mumbai-born London-based brothers saw their fortune increase by £1.356bn in the last year to £22bn, the paper estimates.
The Hinduja Group was founded in Mumbai in 1914 and is involved in a wide range of businesses including oil and gas, foundaries, import-export, trading, motor vehicles, banking, call centres and healthcare.
The Hinduja Group is headquartered in London, UK with offices and manufacturing sites in India and across the world with over 70,000 employees.

While 79-year-old Gopi Hinduja and 83-year-old Srichand Hinduja live in London, their brothers Prakash, 73, and Ashok, 68, live in Geneva and Mumbai respectively. Together the brothers run over 50 companies.
The brothers live at the Carlton House Terrace, a sprawling residence boasting 50 rooms carved into four separate apartments, close to the Buckingham Palace in London.
The two brothers were also named the wealthiest in the UK in 2014 and in 2017.

Other prominent Indian-origin business tycoons including Lakshmi N Mittal, Anil Agarwal, Sri Prakash Lohia and Lord Swraj Paul too feature on the list.
