Founder and CEO of Mainstreet Equity Corp., Navjeet Dhillon is popularly known as Bob. Based in Calgary, Alberta, his firm has offered 100 apartment units rent-free for 3 months to people affected by this crisis.

“They lost their jobs, lost their homes, they were lucky they still had their cars and they drove out. We tried to help them in this difficult time,” Dhillon has been quoted saying in The Hindustan Times.

Majority of the units offered were occupied within hours, the newspaper reported.

He had earlier too provided accommodation where a forest fire forced evacuation of Slave Lake area in the province of Alberta, in 2011.
