57-Year-old K Rajakumari jailed for four months and three weeks. She was accused of abusing and beating her maid. The maid is also of Indian origin.

Rajakumari served Singapore Army for 35 years before retiring from the post of Warrant Officer. The Straits Times reported that the maid who came to Singapore in January 2012 was abused in the same year. She was employed by Rajakumari for 350 Singapore Dollars a month without any day off. Jeeva was subjected to being beaten by a plastic hanger until it broke.

Rajakumari was charged for repeated abuse in 2012.

After a 14-day trial, District Judge Abdul Hamid convicted Rajakumari in September last year of five accounts of causing hurt to Jeeva.
