The victim has appealed the Delhi High Court to hand the case over to the crime branch, DNA reported. The high court has issued a notice to the Delhi Police in this regard.

According to Indian news agency PTI, the woman has alleged that she was raped by a businessman on September 28, 2017. It happened when the woman was with him to discuss business opportunities in India.

The woman has told in her petition that she visited India in September along with her husband to explore business opportunities. She came in contact with the accused that came to see her on the night of the incident. Her husband was away when the accused visited her hotel and took her to his residence to discuss the business proposals, the plea reads.

The victim has alleged in her plea that she was served drinks and later raped her. The petition states that the accused threatened her of consequences if she told anyone.

The woman approached police and lodged an FIR before leaving the country and flying back to New Zealand.

Woman’s plea says that no action has been taken by the police so the matter should be transferred to the crime branch. "The woman is seeking justice for herself and proper punishment to the offender especially in view of the collusion of the police officials with the accused, as the same is essential for securing dignity and human life to the woman," the plea said.
