November 8 is the anniversary of Modi government’s arguably the most controversial decision. Opposition parties, including Congress have called a protest on this day but PM Modi blamed that it was Congress’s torpor that necessitated him to take this decision.

In an election rally in Palampur, Modi alleged that Indira Gandhi refused to carry out note bans after a panel recommended it. He accused former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of not going for a note ban when needed.

Congress and other opposition parties have criticized that note ban did more harm than good. But Modi claimed that Congress is angry because it is feeling the effects’ of demonetization. “Few people who faced the heat of demonetisation are still complaining and are planning to observe November 8 as 'black day'. The Congress cannot scare me by burning my effigies," he said in a rally in Kullu according to news agency PTI.

The opposition parties would observe November 8 as "black day" across the country.
