A bill to make teaching of Bhagavad Gita compulsory as moral education subject in educational institutions has been introduced.

This bill was among 103 private members bills introduced in India’s lower house - Lok Sabha, reports the Huffington Post.

This private member bill on Bhagavad Gita was moved by BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri.

Ramesh Bidhuri is from Delhi and won the 2014 general election with a huge margin against Congress and AAP candidates.

In addition, another BJP member, Nishikant Dubey, introduced a bill to provide for comprehensive policy for overall development of youth in India.
