Missing Indian student in NZ located

The 24-Year-old Indian student, who was reported missing from Auckland at the weekend, has been located.

Param Singh, a family friend, confirmed to SBS Hindi that Jasbinder Singh had been located. He had been in the far north of the country and is being brought back home.

Jasbinder Singh, who lives in Papatoetoe, in south Auckland, was reported missing by his family on Sunday. He spoke to his friend on Saturday at 7.05 pm and then his phone lost power.
“He said he was at a train station and would be back in an hour. But he never arrived back. His phone went off, and there was no activity on social media too,” Jasbinder’s brother Jasbir Singh told SBS Hindi from Auckland.

Jasbir Singh, who lives in Sydney flew to New Zealand and reported his brother missing.
Jasbir and Jasbinder hail from Hoshiarpur district of Punjab in India. Jasbir arrived in Australia 10 years ago. Jasbinder came to New Zealand four years ago to study. He has been studying IT at Unitec in Auckland.
