Movie Review: Baadshaho

The month of September is particularly heavy in action with some really high voltage Bollywood flicks to come out this month. The kick-start has been made by Baadshaho that brings in the trio of Milan Luthria-Emraan Hashmi –Ajay Devgan once again after Once upon a time in Mumbai. With expectations hitting the sky, the pressure has definitely played a toll on the logic of flow.

Ratings  2/5

The story of 6 bravery bestowed individuals set in 1970’s emergency era is written by the man who also gave us The Dirty Picture and Once upon a time in Mumbai but amidst the punches, high end action and loud background score lost the plot in this one.
The movie in minutes from the start will give you reasons to think ‘what is exactly happening’ and just when you try to find some connections and loose some at the same time, the song that Baadshao is more known for comes and soothes you like the perfect stressbusting balm.  ‘Mere Rashke Qamar’ recreated by Tanishk Bagchi retains the charm of the original song.

Second half is an attempt at being pacey, double faced characters, revelations and a climax which could have been a little better.

There are certain performances to save the lot like Sanjay Mishra with his perfect comic timing, Emraan Hashmi with his witty liners and and Esha Gupta who would deliver her dialogue like a project to do. Vidyut Jamwal with his entry topless raises the temperature as the officer and thereafter keep the shirt on through the journey. Ileana tries her best to bring some shades to the character. The diversity in characters couldn’t hold the plot together because of a lack in logic.

You must go and see the flick if you are a die hard fan of any of the stars but we deserved and waited for something better for sure!
