A newborn baby girl was found dumped in a bin in Bhopal, India on Saturday.

She was found covered in ants when a nearby-tea stall owner discovered her.

The Times of India reports the baby was taken to hospital after being found by a tea stall owner.
Dheeraj Rathore, the tea stall owner who discovered her in a bin, swarming with ants, in the early hours of Saturday said: “I was passing through the bin when I heard the cries of a baby.

“I was was shocked to see an infant’s head sticking out of a red polybag in a garbage vat among the bushes.

“Ants were all over her head and body.”

Rathore called his friends, Chandan and Suraj and the trio cleared the ants from the infant’s body.

They then wrapped her in a cloth and took her to JP Hospital nearby.

Doctors described her condition as critical and said the infant weighed merely 1.5kg.

Assistant Sub-Inspector NPS Baghel told TOI the police have registered a case and are looking for the parents.
