Pakistan’s cricket team lost by 89 runs (D/L) after India posted a massive 336 runs on the scoreboard in the world cup game played in Manchester on Sunday.
It was seventh straight win by India in the cricket world cup against Pakistan who has never been able to beat India in the most important cricket tournament.
The disappointed Pakistani cricket fans lashed out at their team on Twitter.
The fierce cricket rivalry between the two neighbouring nations has been a highly contested game over the decades.
However, the last encounter saw many Pakistani cricket fans praising the Indian team.'s performance.
From Rohit Sharma's 140 runs to Kuldeep Yadav's stunning bowl to Virat Kohli's stellar batting and Hardik Pandya's two wickets in two balls, the Indian team was on a roll in the game against Pakistan.
Their brilliant performance earned them quite a few fans from Pakistan.
On Monday, during the talkback in the SBS Hindi program, our Melbourne-based listener Faraz who hails from Pakistan called in to say that he loved Indian team’s performance.
“I fell in love with team India after watching yesterday’s match. The way Virat Kohli and others batted, it was such an amazing show. Pakistan needs to up their game or they should leave the sport, to be honest,” Faraz said.
“I was so disappointed with Pakistan team's performance. Congratulations to team India. They deserve it. They have worked really hard in the past couple of years, and I would say they have a very bright chance to win the world cup," he said on live radio.

Another listener, Sydney-based Saima, said, “Congratulations to team India. I am from Pakistan. I am not a big fan of cricket. I really love to see the matches between Indian and Pakistan. That was a big win. Please don’t take it to the next level. Just take it as a game and enjoy.”
The praises poured in on Twitter too.
Pakistan has to win four matches to secure a place in the semi-finals. India has won against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan. It had to share a point with New Zealand after the match was abandoned due to rains.
India will play against Afghanistan on Saturday, 22 June.
