The 35-year-old owner of Sizza Indian and Middle Eastern Restaurant, Abdul Basith Mohammed had walked out of his home to inspect a power cut when he was repeatedly stabbed on his front lawn in Brisbane’s south, just after midnight on October 25th last year.

The restaurant owner's wife and children were inside their home at the time.

In April this year, Queensland police announced a $250,000 reward for information about the person responsible for the murder. Any accomplice who did not commit the crime may also receive an indemnity, police said.

On Tuesday, police released CCTV footage of man a who they claim may be able to assist with the investigation into the murder of Abdul Mohammed in Kuraby last October.

The CCTV footage shows a man in a hooded jumper walking past cars in one direction and running quickly in the opposite direction soon after.

Queensland Police in a tweet on Tuesday wrote, “Do you recognise this man? Detectives have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with the investigation into the murder of Abdul Mohammed in #Kuraby last October.”
"We're hoping a member of the public may recognise the man, his clothing or his physical movements as he walked along St George St and Beenleigh Road in the early hours of October 25," Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Morrow said.
