New South Wales Police will initiate a land and sea search operation on Thursday to locate an Indian national who has gone missing since Sunday afternoon from Sydney.
28-year-old Indian national Sakithivel Loganathan who lives in Strathfield, in Sydney’s Inner West was reported missing on September 15, Sunday night.
Police investigations revealed he was last seen almost 60 km away near Wollongong on Sunday.
“Subsequent investigations revealed he was last seen at Scarborough Railway Station, near Wollongong, about 3 pm on Sunday (15 September 2019).
“He has been sighted at that location on CCTV wearing a grey jacket, dark blue tracksuit pants and a dark blue t-shirt with white stripes,” NSW Police said in a statement.
The police have appealed for public assistance to locate him while a land and sea search operation begins on Thursday.

“Land and Sea search operations will begin from Thursday,” the Wollongong Police investigating the case told SBS Hindi.
Police revealed Mr Loganathan has no known associates in the Wollongong area and it is unknown why he is in that area.
He has also not used his bank account since Sunday, the police said.
Police and the family of Mr Loganathan are concerned for his welfare.
“We are worried about his whereabouts,” Mr Loganathan’s friend Sathya Moorthy wrote on Facebook.
Another friend Gowtham Guru urged his friend to return home.
“I beg you to please come [home],” he said.
