Reema Lagoo, Bollywood’s most loved mum dies of cardiac arrest: reports

Lagoo played memorable roles as a mother of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt.

Veteran Indian film actress Reema Lagoo passed away in Mumbai on Thursday morning.

She died at the age of 59 of a cardiac arrest, Indian media reports.

Reema Lagoo made her acting debut in the early 1980s. Her first major film was the Bollywood movie 'Kalyug' in 1981 co-starring Shashi Kapoor, Rekha and Raj Babbar.

She gained popularity after the blockbuster hit 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' opposite Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Alok Nath and Dalip Tahil.

She subsequently appeared in numerous commercial hits: 'Maine Pyar Kiya' with Salman Khan, Bhagyashree Patwardhan, Alok Nath and Laxmikant Berde; 'Saajan' co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit; 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!' co-starring Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Mohnish Bahl and Anupam Kher, Yeh Dillagi, Dilwale , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho etc among other films.

She was Bollywood's most loved mum, having worked with some of India's biggest stars; Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt.

A veteran Marathi theatre artist, Reema Lagoo worked in several films, dramas and television shows during her four decade long career.
