The young researcher, who recently made national headlines for her ‘smart socks’ invention says she has thoroughly enjoyed her four years as a university PhD candidate with some beautiful memories to cherish throughout her life.

“I felt well-supported throughout my candidature. Towards the end of my candidature, I received significant support and enthusiasm from the university (particularly, the media team) to communicate my research to a wider audience through different media outlets - which I cannot anticipate in some other university.

“The university has a great multi-cultural education environment with great support for students from different nations,”

In 2016, the value of the international student market in Australia increased 22 per cent and was worth $32.2 billion a year.
